Subject: English for Specific Purposes: Call for Student Editorial Board Members
English for Specific Purposes is calling for applications for the
Student Editorial Board (SEB) 2025.
SEB members will be invited to work on at least two editorial peer
reviews over the year, supported by the Associate Editors. Joining the
SEB will enable students to experience and participate directly in the
peer review process, as well as providing them with an insight into
the workflow of an academic journal. For more information about the
role, please read this editorial by the first SEB:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0889490623000510 .
Please note the following terms of membership on the SEB:
- There will be two positions on the SEB, although this may increase
in the future.
- One-year term, which may be renewed by mutual agreement.
- Minimum of two editorial reviews to be completed per year.
- Feedback on reviews performed will be received from an Associate
Editor and from the Editor.
- SEB Members will be invited and expected to attend the Editorial
Board Meeting if able.
- SEB Members must abide by the same conflict-of-interest and ethical
standards as would regular Board Members in particular relating to
confidentiality.
- SEB members will be listed on the official Editorial Board page of
the journal.
Applications should be submitted in writing to the Publisher, Marta
Baena Jurado at m.baenajurado at elsevier.com and should include the
following:
- Letter of application
- Full CV
- Confirmation/evidence of ongoing study at a relevant academic
institution. Students must have completed at least 2 years of a
relevant PhD program.
- Supporting letter from your academic supervisor
The closing date for applicants is October 31st, 2024.
