Meeting Description:
The Teen Academic Linguistics Conference (TALC) is an annual virtual
symposium that connects researchers and academics in linguistics with
the next generation of scholars, specifically high school students and
early undergraduates. TALC provides a platform for established
linguists to present their work and inspire budding researchers with a
broad range of linguistic topics and innovations.
Presentations will be held via Zoom.
For any clarifications, please contact Tarun Balaji (radlab at umn.edu)
or Brad Neiman (linguisticsleague at gmail.com).
Call for Speakers:
We are excited to announce that TALC4 will take place from January
17-20, 2025, and we are putting out an open call for speakers!
We are seeking individuals with expertise in fields such as
theoretical, corpus, or applied linguistics to present their research
or interests to an enthusiastic and curious audience.
Previous presentations have explored diverse topics such as Second
Language practices, constructed language (conlang) communities,
language revitalization efforts, the McGurk effect, and natural
language processing (NLP) projects. We welcome submissions from both
experienced and emerging scholars in these and other
linguistics-related areas.
Interested speakers should submit a 250-word abstract or proposal for
a 20-minute or 40-minute presentation to Conference Chair, Tarun
Balaji, at radlab at umn.edu. Presentations will be held via Zoom.
For any clarifications, please contact Tarun Balaji (radlab at umn.edu)
or Brad Neiman (linguisticsleague at gmail.com).
