Meeting Description:

The Penn Linguistics Conference (PLC) is a conference held annually by
graduate students in the Department of Linguistics at the University
of Pennsylvania (UPenn). Held on the UPenn campus every spring in
Philadelphia, the United States, the conference welcomes scholars to
present work in various subfields of linguistics and related fields
including cognitive and neuroscience, computer science, and
psychology. Conference presenters are also invited to submit to the
conference proceedings, published online in the Penn Working Papers in
Linguistics. The conference has been a longstanding tradition of UPenn
Linguistics, running since the 1970s.

Keynote speakers for PLC49: Jessica Coon (McGill University) and
Annette D'Onofrio (Northwestern University)

The PLC49 Organizing Committee is proud to announce that the call for
papers is now open!

Deadline: Abstracts are due November 18, 2024. Notification of
acceptance will be given by the end of January 2025.

Submission Guidelines: Papers about language, on any topic in
linguistics and associated fields, such as psychology, neuroscience,
and computer science, are welcome. Session topics in recent years have
included phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, psycholinguistics,
neurolinguistics, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, and natural language
processing. We encourage abstracts on both spoken and signed
languages. Abstracts should be anonymized: please do not include your
name or affiliation within the abstract. Please also note that each
author may only submit one first-authored abstract.

Length: Please limit abstracts to two single-spaced pages in 12pt
font, including examples, figures, and references. Examples and
figures may be interspersed with text.

Format: To facilitate the review process, please submit your abstract
as a .PDF file.

Abstracts will go through a double-blind peer review.
