Description:

At the University of Göttingen -Public Law Foundation-,
Sprachwissenschaftliches Seminar, there is a position as Senior
Researcher (all genders welcome): Besoldungsgruppe A 13 NBesO/100%, to
be filled. Starting date is 4/1/2025. The position is limited to
31.03.2028, the possibility of a prolongation for 3 years is given
according to § 31 NHG.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independent research in relevant areas of General Linguistics;
habilitation is possible.
- Teaching obligation of 4 hours per week in accordance with the
current teaching obligation regulations; teaching in both German and
English.
- Academic advising.
- Supervision of theses.
- Participation in academic self-administration and program
organization.
- Participation in the scholarly activities of the Department of
Linguistics: cooperation with research projects; involvement in the
linguistics
research networks in Göttingen.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- An above-average university degree in Linguistics, completed with a
PhD.
- language skills in German, at least C1;
- language skills in English, attested through scientific publications
in English.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- research focus on grammatical theory (in particular, morphosyntax
and/or phonology);.
- expertise in language typology and/or linguistic fieldwork; research
on Non-Indoeuropean languages;
- expertise in empirical methods (data collection and quantitative
analysis).
