Meeting Description:
This is the first call for papers for Bilingualism and Multilingualism

2025. The deadline for abstract submissions is November 15, 2024.
The conference host is the University of Saskatchewan (UofS), a
Canadian public research university founded in 1907 and located in
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The university is the largest in the
province of Saskatchewan, with over 26,000 students and more than
4,000 graduate students. The university’s main campus is located on
the picturesque bank of the Saskatchewan River, mentioned by Henry
Wadsworth Longfellow in The Song of Hiawatha. The campus features
pseudo-gothic architecture with both old and modern buildings lined
with grey limestone. The UofS is recognized as a member of U15 group
comprised of Canada’s top 15 research universities. Saskatoon has an
international airport within the city limits, and the journey from the
airport to the city center or the University of Saskatchewan takes
only about 20 minutes by car, with a cab costing approximately $35-40
CAD. The city, located right in the middle of Canada, is easily
accessible by air from Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and
Minneapolis. Saskatoon is often referred to as the “Paris of the
Prairies” due to its natural beauty and experiences it offers. The
city offers picturesque bridges, and scenic, paved walking paths along
the river. Saskatoon has two city centers to explore featuring a mix
of historic buildings and modern architectural marvels of steel and
glass. The city is rich in art, and is home to the Remai Modern Art
gallery, which showcases international masters (like Picasso)
alongside local Canadian artists. The streets are adorned with public
art that sparks imagination. Visitors can enjoy the creations by the
Art Guild and Potters’ Guild displayed at crafts stores. Indigenous
crafts are particularly well represented. Visitors can learn about the
history and culture of Indigenous and immigrant communities at the
Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Ukrainian Museum of Canada, Western
Development Museum, etc. The city also offers a wealth of cafes and
restaurants.
