Meeting Description:

The Mediterranean Morphology Meeting (MMM) is a biennial conference
that brings together linguists from diverse theoretical backgrounds
and at various stages of their career to discuss morphology in an
inspiring, informal, and interactive setting.

The 14th Mediterranean Morphology Meeting (MMM14) will take place June
12-14, 2025 and will be organized by the Department of Linguistics,
University of Zadar, in Zadar (Croatia). There will be a thematic
session and an open session.

Call for Papers:

The topic of the thematic session will be:
“Lexicon, lexemes, lexicalization”

Every morphological theory is expected to identify units and define
the nature and constraints of the patterns in which these units are
involved. Beyond this point, there is little agreement on which units
must be taken as basic, where they are stored and whether (or when)
the patterns combining these basic units are stored.

Starting from this very uncommitted preamble, for the MMM14 thematic
session, we invite papers in which a reflexion is made on the lexicon,
on the notion of the lexeme and/or on lexicalization (more generally
on the storage, the units and the ways in which new units enter the
lexicon, respectively), accounting for any phenomenon related to the
grammar of words.

We invite papers that explore the notions of the lexicon, the lexeme,
and lexicalization, while addressing issues related to the
organization of the lexicon and lexical storage, based on any
phenomena related to the grammar of words.

The call is open to papers of any methodological or theoretical
perspective.

For the open session, papers on any morphological topic are welcome.

The conference will host the workshop “Untangling the bundle: language
contact at the word level and below”. Further information concerning
the workshop will be provided soon.

Abstract submission

We invite abstracts of max. 500 words (excluding bibliography) for
oral presentations or posters. Presenters can submit up to two
abstracts, one as single/main author and one as co-author.
