Meeting Description:
ISLOJ is a biennial event whose goal is the advancement of scholarship
on the linguistic study of the (non-Malay) languages of Java and its
environs, encompassing Javanese, Madurese, Sundanese, Sasak, Balinese,
Indonesian sign-language, etc. Papers presented at ISLOJ are concerned
with all varieties of these languages, including standard(ized),
non-standard(ized), dialectal, and contact varieties.
Call for Papers:
ISLOJ10 will be held on June 5-6,2025 and hosted by Atma Jaya Catholic
University in Jakarta, Indonesia. AFLA32 will be held immediately
before on June 3-5, 2025.
Abstracts are invited for papers to be presented on any linguistic
topics dealing with the languages of Java and its environs—Javanese,
Sundanese, Madurese, Balinese, and Sasak. Papers on other languages
will be judged according to their relevance to the symposium topic.
Papers are welcome from any subfield of linguistics and using any
approach or theoretical background. Studies of non-standard(ized)
versions, dialects, and isolects, including contact varieties, are
particularly welcome. All papers are to be presented in English.
Anonymous abstracts should be submitted as a pdf to the following
