Subject: Call For Participants
Hello everyone! I'm a PhD student at the University of Nicosia
conducting an experiment on the impact of pauses in English public
speaking. I'm seeking 10 native English speakers as participants. Your
assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Requirements:
• Native English speaker
• Age 18-35
• Experience with English public speaking (either teaching or learning
these skills)
• No speech disorders
Location:
Online (via WebEx, Zoom, or Tencent Meeting) or at the University of
Nicosia.
What will you need to do?
You'll create three types of English speeches:
Type A: Read-aloud speech (10-15 minutes) You'll read 3 English
articles clearly and loudly. You'll have ONE minute to prepare for
each.
Type B: Impromptu speech (10 minutes) You'll be given 3 pictures to
describe. You'll have ONE minute to prepare for each picture, followed
by a 2-minute English speech.
Type C: Prepared speech (6-10 minutes + one week preparation) You'll
be given three topics. You'll have one week to prepare a 2-minute
speech for each topic. During this time, you should write a draft,
memorize, and practice your speech.
Will you be compensated?
Yes, upon completion of the study, you'll receive a research
certificate
