- R programming for data analysis,
- Experiment design and paradigms,
- Bayesian modeling,
- Corpus-based empirical methods
Description:
The Experimental & Empirical Methods in Linguistics (EEL) workshop was
initiated in 2017 to introduce students and researchers to methods
used in experimental and computational psycholinguistics. The previous
editions were hosted by IIT Delhi (2017) and IIT-BHU (2018). The
salient features of the workshop are lab sessions in experiment
design, data analysis with R, and corpus linguistics, and expository
keynotes on current trends that showcase how statistical and
computational methods are applied in psycholinguistic research.
The third edition of the workshop, EEL 2025, will be hosted by the
Department of Cognitive Science at the Indian Institute of Technology
Kanpur on June 25-29, 2025.
EEL 2025 will feature two parallel tracks: (i) Experimental track for
students who want to learn experiment design tools and statistical
data analysis using R, and (ii) Computational track for students who
want to learn Bayesian modeling and corpus-based empirical methods.
Visit EEL 2025 homepage for more information:
https://sites.google.com/view/eel25/.
The interested candidate has to apply for only one of the above
tracks, depending on what they want to learn. The last date of
application is 15th May 2025. You can find the application link here:
