Federal University of Amapá (Brazil). Its mission is to disseminate

2 – DOSSIER PROPOSAL
Within the broader field of Linguistics, particularly in studies on
linguistic diversity, there has been a growing interest in research
addressing the documentation, description, analysis, and
revitalization of endangered languages.
In this context, Letras Escreve (Qualis A3), in its commitment to
promoting academic dialogue on linguistic diversity, presents the
following thematic dossier proposal: “Endangered Languages:
Documentation, Description, Analysis, Revitalization, and Teaching.”
This dossier will compile original articles exploring challenges and
strategies for preserving endangered languages, emphasizing their role
in safeguarding cultural identities and traditional knowledge, as well
as their indelible contribution as a source of insight into human
natural languages.
We recognize that theoretical-methodological principles from diverse
linguistic approaches — such as Linguistic Documentation,
Phonetic-Phonological Studies, Morphosyntax, Sociolinguistics, Public
Policies for Revitalization, Digital Technologies for Language
Preservation, Bilingual Education, and the Development of Teaching
Materials for Mother Tongue Education — have significantly advanced
the valorization, documentation, description, analysis, and
revitalization of endangered languages.
Thus, this dossier aims to gather research on endangered languages
focusing on:
 1. Linguistic Documentation: Innovative methods, emerging
technologies, and experiential reports on documentation;
 2. Description and Analysis: Phonetic-phonological, morphosyntactic,
semantic, and sociolinguistic studies of endangered languages;
 3. Language Revitalization: Community-driven initiatives, public
policies, pedagogical strategies, and digital technologies;
 4. Mother Tongue Teaching: Development of didactic materials, teacher
training, bilingual education, and curriculum integration.
