Call for papers for special issue: Neurocognitive Linguistics
The journal Anales de Lingüística announces the call for papers for
the special issue “Neurocognitive Linguistics”.
The aim of this issue is to bring together research from the fields of
linguistics and cognitive sciences that have as their theoretical
framework of reference the neurocognitive model of language created by
Sydney M. Lamb, also known as Relational Network Theory (RNT).
We invite original research papers that explore aspects of language
from a neurocognitive perspective or that examine details of the
theory through experimental studies. We welcome theoretical,
empirical, and comparative studies (in English and Spanish) that
address topics such as the following:
Topics:
- Relational treatment of typical and atypical linguistic phenomena.
- Analysis of atypical cases, often discarded by most linguistic
theories: speech errors, lapsi linguae, unintended puns, “unintended”
meanings.
- Experimental studies that evaluate the hypotheses of RNT.
- Relationship of RNT with other linguistic theories.
- Critical comments on aspects of RNT or extensions of the theory.
- Language acquisition or foreign language learning in terms of RNT.
- Epistemological analysis of RNT (empirical adequacy, developmental
plausibility, operational plausibility, neurological plausibility,
etc.).
- Analysis of linguistic structures in relational terms.
- Study of communication in relational terms.
Contributions should be between 6,000 and 10,000 words and adhere to
the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author´s
guidelines.
Important dates:
- Deadline for submission of full papers: September 30, 2025.
- Publication date: December 2025.
All contributions will be subject to double-blind peer review.
Submissions should be sent through the journal's website:
http://revistas.uncu.edu.ar/ojs3/index.php/analeslinguistica
Alternatively, they can be sent to the e-mail
paul.buzila at lls.unibuc.ro
Guidelines for submissions can be found on the website.
