International Conference “Language and Culture in the Era of
Scientific Knowledge and Professional Education Integration” which is
to be held on October 23rd–25th, 2025 at the Institute of Foreign
Languages and International Tourism in Pyatigorsk State University.
The main objectives of the Conference are as follows: to discuss the
research experience in the sphere of various branches of linguistics
(semantics, syntax, pragmatics, discourse analysis) and
linguodidactics; to look for the possible solutions to the current
issues of pedagogical linguistics and cross-cultural communication; to
highlight the importance of reviving endangered heritage languages; to
re-evaluate scientific and professional knowledge fundamentals in the
rapidly changing present-day world.
The Conference deliberations will be on the following themes:
1. Current Linguistic Research from the Perspective of Intercultural
and Interpersonal Communication:
- Challenges of interpersonal and cross-cultural interaction in the
context of the New Reality (Normality)
- Discourse studies as a branch of communicative linguistics
- Pragmalinguistic studies into the aspects of text and discourse
2. Key Aspects of Language and Culture Functioning in the Context of
Linguistic Multipolarity:
- Issues of preservation and revitalization of minority languages and
cultures
- Language as a means of expressing ethnicity and cultural identity
- Dynamics of migration and social tensions from the perspective of
linguistic studies
3. Pedagogical Design of the Digital Learning Environment:
- Teaching Humanities in the context of digitalization and
professionalization of education: didactic, technological,
psychological, and ethical aspects
- Modern methods and technological innovations in teaching foreign
languages in the digital learning environment
- Challenges in creating an intuitive interface and adaptive design of
the digital learning environment
- Effective interaction between teachers and students in distance
learning: accessibility, collaboration, motivation, academic integrity
- Development and application of various methods for assessing the
quality of professional and foreign language education on digital
learning platforms
4. Challenges and Innovations in Professional and Inclusive Foreign
Language Education: Linguocentric and Anthropocentric Approaches:
- Linguacentric and anthropocentric paradigms in professional training
- Foreign language teaching as a means of professional communication
across  cultures
- Development trajectory of innovative and practice-oriented
scientific research in higher school

The Conference will examine research and development of the above
listed issues both locally and internationally.
At the same time the event will not only incorporate extensive
discussions, it will consist of additional workshops, guest speaker
sessions and scintillating social events, that will help scholars and
educators develop networks and transform their ideas into valid
research projects.
Participation in the Conference
Participation Formats:
- on-site presentation;
- on-site presentation with subsequent publication;
- publication only (no attendance required);
- online presentation;
- online participation without presentation or publication.
All forms of participation are free of charge for international
applicants.
Working languages of the conference: Russian, English
All conference attendees are required to register. Only registered
participants may present papers, attend sessions, and join workshops.
Please wear your conference badge at all times during the event.
The conference will be held in a hybrid format, with online
participation supported via
the Yandex Telemost digital platform.
Following the conference, it is planned to publish the scientific
journal Language and Culture in the Era of Scientific Knowledge and
Professional Education Integration, which is indexed in the Russian
Science Citation Index (RSCI).
In addition, selected papers may be published in a special issue of
the peer-reviewed journal Vestnik of Pyatigorsk State University
(included in the Russian Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) List).
Authors wishing to publish in a HAC-listed journal must prepare their
manuscripts in accordance with the requirements available on the
Pyatigorsk State University website at:
https://pgu.ru/editions/vestnik/avtoram/.
Decisions on acceptance for publication will be made by the editorial
boards of the journals and the Conference Organizing Committee,
following plagiarism checks via the “Antiplagiat” system and peer
review.
Important Dates:
Submission of applications and materials for publication – by 10
October 2025
The conference program, based on accepted applications, will be
finalized and distributed to participants no later than 20 October
2025
Conference speakers, based on their actual presentation and form of
participation, will receive personalized certificates in either
printed or electronic form.
Participants are responsible for covering their own travel,
accommodation, meals, and banquet expenses.
Applications and articles must be submitted no later than 10 October
2025 to the following e-mail address: conference.iiyamt at pgu.ru, with
“Conference 2025” indicated in the Subject line. The Registration Form
is provided in Appendix 1.
Manuscripts intended for publication should be prepared in accordance
with the formatting guidelines outlined in Appendix 2.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
(for the Conference Proceedings)
1. Each article must be carefully proofread by the author and must not
contain spelling or punctuation errors, repetitions, or redundant
blocks of information. The author is responsible for the content of
the article, ensuring the absence of extremist or terrorist materials,
obscene language, and references to individuals or organizations
designated as foreign agents in the Russian Federation.
2. All articles in the conference proceedings must be formatted
uniformly. Each article should follow the structure below.
Metadata in Russian:
•       Upper left corner – UDC number in bold (see for example:
http://teacode.com/online/udc/ or http://udk-codes.net/);
•       Author’s initials and surname(s) in bold italics, aligned to
the right;
•       Full official name of the institution (as per its Charter) in
italics, aligned to the right;
•       Author’s email address(es) in italics, aligned to the right;
•       SPIN code (eLibrary);
•       Title of the article in Russian – uppercase, bold, centered,
without indentation;
•       Abstract in Russian (in italics), 250–350 characters
(excluding spaces), summarizing the main topic, purpose, and results;
•       Keywords and phrases in Russian (maximum of 5).
Metadata in English – presented in the same order.
Article text
Bibliography heading – bold italics, centered.
Numbered reference list – in alphabetical order, justified alignment.
3. References must be formatted according to GOST R 7.0.5–2008
Bibliographic reference. General requirements and rules. Examples are
provided in Appendix 2. The list should be arranged alphabetically:
first Russian-language sources, followed by foreign-language sources,
with electronic resources included in the general list. Page numbers
are required for articles in journals or conference proceedings. The
author is responsible for the accuracy of all data, citations, and
references.
4. Initials must not be separated from surnames onto different lines;
use a non-breaking space (Ctrl+Shift+Space).
5. Initials and surnames must be written separately: M.V. Lomonosov
(in the article), Petrov S.N. (in references).
6. In-text citations should be in square brackets: [Chernigovskaya,
2021, p. 218].
7. References to social networks should not be included in the
bibliography; simply mention the name/URL in parentheses within the
text.
8.  When mentioning the company “Meta” (as well as Facebook or
Instagram), it is mandatory to add a note that the organization is
recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation. This
requirement applies to all media, individuals, and companies.
Examples:
o       Recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the
Russian Federation.
o       Facebook is owned by Meta, recognized as an extremist
organization and banned in the Russian Federation.
o       Instagram is owned by Meta, recognized as an extremist
organization and banned in the Russian Federation.
9. Use the correct dash/hyphen rules: dashes (–) without spaces
between numbers and years; dashes with spaces between words; hyphens
only for compound words.
10. Do not use double (or triple) spaces – one space between words
only.
11. All tables must be numbered and titled; tables, charts, and
figures should be black-and-white (shading is allowed) and referenced
in the text (e.g., “see Table 1”).
12. Text editor – Microsoft Word.
13. Page setup: A4, portrait orientation, margins 2 cm on all sides;
paragraph indent – 1.25 cm (do not set indents with spaces).
14. Font: Times New Roman, 14 pt, line spacing 1.5. Italics or bold
may be used for emphasis; text color – black.
15. Article length: 6–8 pages.
16. Formula editor – Microsoft Office (MathType package).
All submissions will be peer-reviewed and checked for originality.
Peer review will be carried out by members of the journal’s editorial
board (more details on the journal’s editorial policy and review
procedures are available at http://langj.pgu.ru/ or on eLibrary.ru at
https://elibrary.ru/title_about_new.asp?id=75419). The technical
secretary will perform plagiarism checks using the “Antiplagiat”
system. The minimum originality requirement is 75%. Articles below
this threshold must be revised or withdrawn. AI-generated text is not
permitted.
