Description:

Two PhD Full Fee Waiver Scholarships (covering full EU fees) are now
available at the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics,
University College Dublin.
These scholarships will cover four years of full-time PhD study and
are open to applicants across all six SLCL subject areas (French,
German, Italian, Linguistics, Portuguese & Spanish).

Scholarship Type: 4-Year Full EU Fee Waiver
Number Available: 2
Start Date: PhD programme must begin before 31 January 2026
Eligibility: Open to all SLCL subject areas (max. one award per
subject)
Conditions:
Applicants must be formally accepted into the PhD programme through
the SLCL Graduate Studies Board's standard admissions process.
Recipients are required to apply for external funding (e.g., Taighde
Éireann/Research Ireland) during Year 1 of the PhD.
>From Year 2 onwards, recipients must undertake a paid tutoring role
within SLCL, up to a maximum of 6 hours per week.
The scholarships are competitive and non-transferable. Decisions are
final and not subject to appeal.
