The French Phonology Network (Réseau Français de Phonologie) is
launching a call for abstracts for its 2026 annual conference, the
twenty-third in its history. The 2026 edition will be held from July
1st to 3rd in Paris, France. The conference is sponsored by the
research laboratories HTL (UMR 7597, Université Paris Cité /
Université Sorbonne Nouvelle & CNRS), LLF (UMR 7110, Université Paris
Cité & CNRS), CRLAO (UMR 8563, EHESS & CNRS) and the project inIdEx
EFL “Empirical Foundations of Linguistics”.
Submissions anchored in any school or theoretical framework of
phonology are welcome. Topics of interest may relate to phonology in
general or for specific languages, along synchronic or diachronic
dimensions. Topics may focus on, but are not limited to, signal
processing, perception, articulation, acquisition, diachrony,
dialectology, formalism, epistemology, descriptive phonology and all
issues which explicitly deal with phonology and its interfaces.
A thematic session will address the history and epistemology of
phonology.
Presentations will be given in French or English and will be scheduled
for 30-minute time slots (20-25 minutes for presentation and 5-10
minutes for discussion).

Pierre-Yves Testenoire (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, France)

Abstract Submission:
A poster session is planned. When submitting your abstract, you will
be asked to choose either “oral presentation only” or “oral
presentation or poster”.
Abstracts can be written in French or English. They should not exceed
two pages in length (A4 pages) with 2,5 cm margins on all sides, Times
New Roman, 12 pt, single-spaced, including references, tables and
figures.
Submission number per person is limited to one single-authored
abstract and one co-authored abstract.
Anonymous PDF abstracts should be submitted to the conference website
at the following address: https://rfp2026.sciencesconf.org/. You will
need to log into the website to be able to submit your abstract.
Abstracts intended for the thematic session (oral presentation only)
must be submitted by selecting “History and Epistemology of
Phonology.”
The submission must not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any
way. All abstracts will be reviewed by at least two referees.

Deadline for submission: February 15th, 2026
Notification of acceptance: April 1st, 2026
