Short Title: LLcD 2026
Date: 14-Dec-2026 - 16-Dec-2025
Location: Aix-en-Provence, France
Meeting URL: https://llcd2026.sciencesconf.org/
Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics
Submission Deadline: 01-Mar-2026
We are pleased to announce the Call for Workshops for the 3rd edition
of the conference “Languages and Language at the Crossroads of
Disciplines” (LLcD), organized within the CNRS Thematic Network LLcD,
which will take place at Aix-Marseille University from 14 to 16
December 2026.
The 2026 LLcD conference will include a plenary session, thematic
workshops, poster sessions, as well as a roundtable discussion on the
theme “Linguistics and Language AI: Foundations and Reciprocal
Challenges”
We invite proposals for workshops addressing all subfields of
linguistics, covering a wide range of languages and adopting diverse
approaches (descriptive, theoretical, empirical, interdisciplinary,
etc.), with the aim of fostering diversity across disciplines and
methodologies. The theme highlighted for this edition is “Speaking
Minds: Empirical Approaches to Language(s) and Speech”. However,
proposals are not required to be explicitly linked to the conference
theme.
Each workshop will consist of 30-minute time slots and must include at
least 5 presentations. An additional poster session common to all
workshops will be organized. The working languages of the conference
will be English and French.
Guidelines for Workshop Proposal Submissions:
Workshop proposals should be submitted as PDF documents and include
the following information:
- Workshop title and five keywords.
- Names, affiliations, and email addresses of the workshop
organizers.
- Workshop description summarizing (i) the subject, (ii) the state of
the art, (iii) the research questions, (iv) objectives, and (v) the
relevant (sub-)discipline(s), accompanied by a bibliography (between
500 and 1,000 words, excluding references).
Optionally, the proposal may also include:
- Short abstracts (around 300 words) and non-anonymous submissions of
presentations proposed for the workshop. [If the workshop is accepted,
these abstracts must be resubmitted anonymously as part of the general
call for submissions and will undergo the same review process as other
abstracts.]
- Names of any invited speakers. [Please note that LLcD will not
cover travel or registration fees.]
The review of proposals will take into account, among other factors,
the interest and originality of the theme and objectives, as well as
their feasibility in the LLcD Conference format with at least 5
presentations. While not required for selection, proposals that are
innovative and interdisciplinary will also be considered favorably.
Each workshop is required to be conducted in a single language, either
French or English.
Key Dates:
Workshop proposal submission deadline: before 1 March 2026
Notification of acceptance or rejection of workshop proposals: 25
March 2026
Call for papers: 31 March–30 April 2026
Notification of acceptance or rejection of papers: 5 June 2026
Review Procedure
Workshop proposals will be reviewed by the LLcD Scientific Committee,
with final inclusion in the conference program decided in
collaboration with the conference co-chairs.
Individual submissions will be reviewed by three reviewers from the
LLcD Scientific Committee, with the possibility of including experts
suggested by the workshop organizers.
The submission link for workshop proposals will be available by 15
January—stay tuned!
