The Formal Linguistics Meeting in Mexico (ELF) aims to bring together
researchers and graduate students working under formal approaches to
the study of language to promote the discussion of ideas on language
phenomena and their theoretical implications. We invite submission of
abstracts for presentations that have as a theoretical basis any of
the formal linguistic approaches (Minimalism, Optimality Theory,
Formal Semantics, Distributed Morphology, HPSG, among others) to the
analysis of linguistic phenomena at different grammatical levels
(Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Morphology, Phonology, and Interface
studies).

Abstract submission:
Only in-person presentations will be accepted: oral communication, 20
minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions.
Proposal Submission: The call for proposals is open from the
publication of this announcement until its closing.}
Proposals should include:
- Title of the work.
- Abstract (description of the problem, objectives, examples, main
results, and bibliographic references); abstracts should be a maximum
of two double-spaced pages, in Times New Roman, 12 pt., with 2.5 cm
margins. The maximum length includes data, figures, diagrams, and
bibliography.
- Abstracts can be submitted in Spanish or English.
- Abstracts must be completely anonymous and should be sent to the
following email: elfmex20 at gmail.com with the subject line "Proposal
for ELF 25". In the body of the email, include the following
information: full name, affiliation, academic degree, title of the
presentation.
- Abstracts that do not comply with the above guidelines will not be
considered for evaluation.

Deadline for submission of proposals: April 11, 2025
Notification of the verdict: May 30, 2025
