We invite submissions to the 46th International Child Phonology
Conference (ICPC) that will be held at ELTE Eötvös Loránd University,
Budapest, Hungary from May 28 - 30, 2025. ICPC is the largest annual
gathering for research on child speech, child phonological development
and child phonological disorders (SSDs).
ICPC 2025 welcomes proposals for oral and/or poster presentations on
all aspects of children's speech in typical and atypical contexts in
monolingualism, multilingualism, early second language acquisition,
dialects, and sign language phonology. Work on indigenous, minority,
and under-researched languages is also encouraged.
The conference supports a multi- and interdisciplinary approach across
phonology, phonetics, interfaces with other grammatical levels, speech
production, speech perception, psycholinguistics, clinical
linguistics, sign language phonology, computational modeling,
educational approaches, and the application of new technologies.
Theoretical, empirical, experimental, and clinical contributions are
welcome.
Specific topics include (but are not limited to):
 - acquisition and use
 - L1, L2, L3, Ln
 - dialect
 - pronunciation learning and teaching
 - typical
 - atypical
 - multimodality
 - assessment, remediation
 - maintenance, loss and attrition
 - speech recognition and processing
 - speech and hearing impairment
 - cultural and linguistic diversity
Language of Conference: English
Call for Papers:
There is a limit of one presentation (oral, poster or workshop) as a
primary (first) author. This however does not exclude the opportunity
to be a co-author for an unlimited number of abstracts.
Instructions for Abstracts:
Abstracts are 300 words long (excluding references)
Provide 4-7 keywords.
Preference for oral or poster presentation is indicated at the end of
the abstract.

Notification of acceptance: 24 February 2025
Registration of presenting authors: 31 March 2025
Early bird registration: 15 April 2025

Late/On-Site registration: 16 - 30 May 2025
Conference: 28-30 May 2025
Extended deadline: Jan. 24, 2025
Registration fees:
Early registration fee (until 31 March): 100 EUR
(The first author of each paper is required to register for the
conference and pay the participation fee by 31 March.)
Regular registration fee: 120 EUR
On-site registration fee: 170 EUR
Student fee until 31 March: 50 EUR
It is possible to submit full papers (optional). Full papers are
welcome to be submitted after the Symposium (by 31 August 2025) for
publication in special issues of the Journal of Monolingual and
Bilingual Speech (Equinox Publishing) (Journal of Monolingual and
