The Department of Language and Communication of the Faculty of
Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences
in Konin, Poland is pleased to invite to the scientific conference
inspired by COST Action project “CA21129 – What are Opinions?”.
CONFERENCE TOPICS AND THEMES
- What are opinions? What are their linguistic and non-linguistic
markers? Related phenomena and the conceptual grounding of opinion
research
- Opinion identification and computational methodologies
- Argumentation and legitimization in opinionated discourse
- Cultural differences in opinion expression
- Semantic, syntactic, pragmatic and stylistic aspects of opinionated
language
- Opinion and figurative language
- Opinions in Lexicography and Terminology
- Opinions in traditional and online media
- Opinionated texts and discourse analysis
- Expressing opinions and standpoints in educational contexts and
practice
- Opinion and evaluation in specialized discourses (legal, technical,
scientific, etc.)
- Opinion expression in literature
Languages of the presentations are English, German and Polish.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT?
All abstracts of should be submitted with your name and paper title in
.doc(x) formats directly to the conference email address at
cc at konin.edu.pl. All abstracts should be limited to 300 words of text
and should include up to 5 keywords.
IMPORTANT DATES
Deadline for abstract and theme session submissions: 1 March, 2025
Notification of abstract and theme session acceptance: 8 March, 2025
Deadline for fee payment: 15 March, 2025
