The Spanish Graduate Association (SPA Grad) at Arizona State
University will host the 2025 Annual Literature and Linguistics
Conference March 6-8, 2025. This conference has a focus on theoretical
topics and perspectives that put into discussion the wide range of
human aesthetic and linguistic expression from Latin America
(including Brazilian literature) and the Americas. Abstracts for paper
presentations or posters are invited on any area of Hispanic
literature such as gender, feminist and queer theory, visual studies,
migration and border studies, critical literary studies, traditional
and popular literature, Latin American Indigenous studies, discussion
in literary theory, and teaching of the Spanish language in
literature. It also invites presentations in linguistics, covering
aspects including (but not limited to): synchronic and diachronic
approaches to theoretical linguistics, language acquisition, heritage
languages, sociolinguistics, bilingualism, language contact, syntax,
dialectology, phonology/phonetics, pragmatics, semantics, applied
linguistics, language contact and Spanish in the US.
