The 16th Pronunciation in Second Language Learning and Teaching
(PSLLT) Conference—an annual meeting devoted to the research and
teaching of second or additional languages—will take place on 15–17
October 2025 at Concordia University in Montréal, Québec, Canada. The
conference will bring together instructors, researchers, and students
working on all aspects of pronunciation teaching and learning, in any
second language. The general theme of the conference is Pronunciation
for the Real World. In addition to work related to real-world
applications of pronunciation research and pedagogy, we invite
proposals about any aspect of pronunciation research, teaching, and
learning—across the entire spectrum of research, including
experimental, observational, descriptive, and corpus studies.

• Suzie Beaulieu (Université Laval)
• Charlie Nagle (University of Texas at Austin)
Presentations
We welcome submissions across the following three formats:
• oral presentations (20 min, followed by 5 min of questions)
• posters (a dedicated 90-min poster presentation session), and
• teaching tips (7 min, evidence-based pedagogical activities for
teaching pronunciation).
Abstract submission information
The abstract submission portal is open
(https://psllt2025.ca/Call-for-proposals), and the submission of
proposals closes on 15 April 2025. Abstracts should have no more than
300 words including optional references. Notification of acceptance
will be communicated by 15 May 2025. Please note that you will have to
create a SoftConf account (https://softconf.com/p/psllt2025) to be
able to submit your abstract.
Language policy
The working language of the conference is English, but presentations
are also welcome in French.
