The School of Modern Languages at the University of St Andrews invites
applications for a fully funded PhD scholarship in Global Digital
Humanities, a dynamic and rapidly evolving field at the cutting edge
of interdisciplinary research.
This award supports innovative doctoral research that either employs
or critically examines digital methodologies within the context of
Modern Languages.
You will join an intellectually vibrant and internationally connected
research environment that draws on expertise from eight language
areas, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Persian, Russian, and
Spanish, and collaborates with the School of Computer Science. This is
your opportunity to gain advanced technical and analytical skills
while contributing original research to the evolving landscape of
digital scholarship in the humanities.
We welcome proposals across a wide range of topics, including, but not
limited to:
- Digital Pedagogy
- Digital Publishing and Encoding
- Digital Preservation and Archival Practice
- Digital Storytelling
- Languages and Technology
- Memory Studies in the Digital Age
- Quantitative Literary Analysis
