Celebrating 50 years of the Irish Association of Applied Linguistics
Call for Papers:
The IRAAL 50th anniversary conference aims to bring together all
sectors of Applied Linguistics in Ireland to celebrate half a century
of our association’s academic activity.  We welcome abstracts (max.
250 words) for conceptual and empirical presentations in any area of
Applied Linguistics, broadly defined, including, but not confined to
the following:
 • Bilingualism
 • Multilingualism
 • Plurilingualism and/or Translanguaging
 • Corpus Linguistics
 • Language Policy and Language Planning
 • Language Teaching, Learning & Assessment
 • Computer-Assisted Language Learning
 • Theoretical, Descriptive and/or Historical Linguistics
 • Language Acquisition (L1, L2 & additional languages)
 • (Critical) Discourse Analysis
We welcome abstracts for presentations in any of the following
formats:
 • 20-minute paper, with 5 minutes for questions and discussion
 • A thematic panel or round-table discussion to include 3-4
contributors
 • Poster presentation
The main language of the conference will be English. However,
Irish-language presentations will also be welcome, as will abstracts
from postgraduate students and early career researchers.
