Subject: 'Long Form Audio Recordings: A to Z' Workshop


Long Form Audio Recordings: A to Z is a free, two-day workshop for
researchers interested in collecting and processing naturalistic audio
data using new AI tools. The workshop will take place on 16th–17th
June 2025, from 9 am to 5 pm, at the Psychology Tower Building,
Cardiff University.
This satellite workshop is part of LFRAZ and the Long Form Recording
Interdisciplinary Summit, held in collaboration with Université PSL
and The Prairie Institute, and is generously supported by the Cardiff
University Doctoral Academy.
The workshop will include a mix of presentations and hands-on
sessions. Attendees will learn about:
- Choosing appropriate recording equipment
- Considerations for collecting and storing long-form recording data
- Using existing open-source tools to extract data, such as:
- Estimates of adult speech and child vocalisation frequency
- Estimates of communicative turn-taking
