The School of Philosophy, Linguistics and Science Studies at Tel-Aviv
University invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track
position beginning March or October 2026.
We seek candidates with a record of excellence in research and
teaching in one or more of the following areas:
- Philosophy
- Linguistics
- History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas
Applicants with demonstrated expertise spanning more than one of these
disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.
Job Description and Requirements:
The School places the highest value on academic excellence,
intellectual breadth, and teaching versatility. The successful
candidate will be expected to:
- Conduct original, high-quality research and publish in leading
venues.
- Teach required and elective courses at both undergraduate and
graduate levels.
- Supervise M.A. and Ph.D. students.
- Contribute actively to the academic life of the School and its
administrative duties.
- Apply for competitive research funding.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The principal language of instruction is Hebrew, but some courses are
taught in English. Candidates who do not speak Hebrew will be expected
to acquire the ability to teach in Hebrew within two years of their
appointment.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. by the start of employment. Salary and
employment conditions will conform to Tel Aviv University regulations.
The appointment procedure will be carried out according to the rules
and regulations of Tel-Aviv University authorities and is subject to
the approval of the University authorities.

School of Philosophy, Linguistics, and Science Studies, the Faculty of
Humanities, and Tel Aviv University are not obligated to appoint any
