Calling all language scientists and language enthusiasts who enjoy
doing science communication about language (or who would like to
start): registration for LingComm25 is now open!
LingComm25 is an international conference dedicated to linguistics
communication to non-academic audiences. It’s completely online and
open to all!
Here are a few highlights from our exciting 4-day program:
Panel discussions on “Talking About Hard Stuff: Ideology and Identity”
(with JPB Gerald, Mike Mena, Rianna Walcott, and Jessi Grieser),
"Measuring LingComm impact" (with Ward Peeters, Laura Wagner, Eva
Knopp, & Charlotte Vaughn), and "LingComm and Policy" (with Joao
Costa, Onno Crasborn, Krista Byers-Heinlein, & Phillip Carter), and
more.
How-to sessions offering hands-on tips to "TikTok your LingComm" (with
Etymology Nerd, Adam Aleksic),  “Leverage Lingcomm Clout in Academia”
(with Lauren Gawne), and "Earn a Living with LingComm” (with Grant
Barrett), and more.
Plenaries by Ionica Smeets on "Lessons Learned in Science
Communication" and by Emily Bender on  "LingComm in the Face of
Well-Funded Nonsense".
Plus an exciting line-up of posters about lingcomm projects, and
lightning talks highlighting lessons learned from lingcomm projects,
all from LingComm-ers from around the world.
