The Polish Cognitive Linguistics Association and the Institute of
English Studies, UKEN,
Krakow, Poland, are pleased to invite you to the Cognitive Linguistics
in the Year 2025
international conference. This year’s edition is dedicated to various
forms of language contact.
We welcome submissions from applied and theoretical linguists,
sociolinguists,
psycholinguists, linguists specializing in translation studies,
language acquisition, bi- and
multilingualism, language cognition, specialized languages, language
education, contact-
induced phenomena, cultural influences, social history and literary
studies.
We welcome submissions that explore any form of language contact
resulting from/in, e.g.
linguistic borrowing, linguistic creativity, language interference,
translation, second/foreign
language acquisition, language change, linguistic variation, code
switching, code mixing and
other contact phenomena. “Language” is understood to include natural,
invented, national,
standard and regional languages, creoles, dialects, language
varieties, specialized languages,
sociolects, professiolects, ethnolects, idiolects, bilingual mixed
languages, non-standard uses,
sign languages and other forms of human communication.

We welcome 250-word abstracts sent via the Abstract Submission link at
the conference

We are open to thematic sessions, which should be sent directly to the
organisers at:
ptjk2025 at uken.krakow.pl by March 31st, 2025, and include: the name and
affiliation of the
organiser(s), the theme of the session, a 500-word proposal, and a
list of 3-6 participants with
their affiliations.
We also welcome proposals for posters presenting research in progress.

poster proposal by March 31st, 2025 via Abstract Submission at the
conference website:
