The Cluster on Language Research at UC Davis invites submissions for
the 11th Annual Symposium on Language Research, to be held on May
23rd, 2025.
The Cluster on Language Research is an interdisciplinary organization
supporting any research and collaboration in the domain of “language”.
The research interests of our members span a broad range of
language-related topics, including but not limited to: language
structure and variation, psycholinguistics, pedagogy, bilingualism,
child language acquisition, second language development,
sociolinguistics, and typology, to name a few. Our annual symposium
serves to foster an open intellectual space in which researchers
worldwide can share a diverse range of approaches to the study of
language, drawing upon a variety of fields, disciplines, and
interests.
We invite abstracts related to research on language in any capacity.
We particularly encourage submissions related to our theme of
Commitment to Collaboration in language research. This means that we
encourage any work that is interdisciplinary and broad in its scope
and application.
The symposium will take place on Friday, May 23rd, 2025. Each
individual talk is limited to 15 minutes, plus an additional 5 minutes
for questions. The symposium is hybrid, so presentations may be held
either in-person or on Zoom.
Submission Guidelines:
- Abstracts and presentations must be in English.
- Abstracts are limited to 350 words and must be submitted in .pdf
format.
- Only students may submit (i.e. those who have not yet completed a
PhD).
