The II International Conference “Lexicography in the XXI Century“ will
be held on October 10-12 in hybrid format in Tbilisi, at Ilia State
University.
The Conference is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the death of
Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani, an eminent Georgian lexicographer, writer,
diplomat and public figure.
The aim of the Conference is to create a forum for the discussion of
issues of modern lexicography in Georgia. The digital era proved to
become a big challenge for lexicography which determined radical
rethinking of many theoretical and practical issues and turned
lexicography into one of the most dynamic and rapidly developing
fields of knowledge. Rapid changes in language technology and
artificial intelligence and the demand for the creation of more
sophisticated applications compel lexicographers to look ahead and
foresee the place of lexicography and lexicographers in these
developments.
At the Conference, special attention will be paid to the participation
of young researchers. The Conference will have sessions dedicated to
MA and Ph.D. students.
The main topic of the II Conference is: “Lexicography and
Technologies”.
The international conference “Lexicography in the XXI century” was
established in 2022 by Ilia State University and Batumi Shota
Rustaveli State University. The first conference was held on 10-12
November 2023 at Ilia State University.
The organizer of the conference is “The Centre for Lexicography and
Language Technologies.”

6. Lexicological Issues of Lexicographical Relevance
7. Bilingual Lexicography
8. The Dictionary-Making Process

10. Presentation of Lexicographic Projects.
