The satellite workshop Crowd-sourced Linguistic Data Collection and
Augmentation (in French, Science Participative pour les Données et
Corpus Linguistiques - ParCoL) aims to gather the research community
around how participative science can be used in #linguistics. The
relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
• the creation or functioning of participative tools (data collection
platforms, games with a purpose, etc.) dedicated to languages,
• the technical challenges of data or metadata collection platforms,
• ethical issues raised by the creation or use of crowd-sourced
corpora,
• the participants' engagement (motivations, nudges,
gamification...),
• participative science for less-resourced languages,
• participative science for the exploration of orality and diversity
of usages,
• theoretical challenges of crowd-sourced data and metadata,
• political or legal challenges of crowd-sourced data and metadata,
• research results on crowd-sourced data, in any linguistic domain,
Submissions can be made under 3 different formats:
- abstract (2 pages + references) : summarized translation of a paper
that has already been published, negative results, statement,
description of a project;
- short paper (8 pages + references) : preliminary results or
literature review;
- long paper (16 pages + references) : full scientific paper.
