Dear all,
Greetings from ETHL - Edinburgh Theoretical Historical Linguistics!
We are excited to invite you to our 2025 Seminar, which will run on
16th and 17th of April 2025 in Edinburgh.
ETHL is a summer school style seminar focusing on the role of theory
in historical linguistics and the relevance of historical linguistics
to linguistic theory and is open to any linguist interested in the
intersection of historical and theoretical work.
ETHL 2025 Seminar will run with four discursive seminars providing
insight into various aspects of theoretical historical linguistics led
by Laura Grestenberger (Austrian Academy of Sciences, Institute of
Iranian Studies), Patrick Honeybone (University of Edinburgh), Ranjan
Sen (University of Sheffield), and George Walkden (University of
Konstanz). The themes of the conference will then be brought together
in a plenary talk by Theresa Biberauer (University of Cambridge,
Stellenbosch University).
ETHL, furthermore, will host a series of snap student talks which are
essentially posters adapted for theoretical work (more info at
