The University of Bath’s 2nd Disciplinary Literacy Symposium will be
held on the 26th and 27th June 2025 at the University of Bath and the
Royal High School Bath. The Symposium brings together leading
education specialists, linguists and academics in the field, who will
present and discuss their latest work on topics, such as:
- Disciplinary literacy in the disciplines
- Genres and genre-based pedagogy
- Cross-disciplinary and teacher/researcher collaboration
- Academic literacy in Higher Education
- Teacher professional development
The Symposium, hosted by the The British Academic Written English
Secondary School (BAWESS) project team, is designed to be of
particular interest to secondary school teachers and researchers
interested in disciplinary literacy, systemic functional linguistics
and corpus linguistics. The event promises excellent opportunities for
discussion, knowledge exchange, professional development and
networking. Join us to hear about current research and approaches from
leading researchers and teachers working in the field.
