BHL is a biennial international conference (Leiden University, The
Netherlands, 2015, 2019; Florida State University, USA, 2017; Puebla,
Mexico, 2024) that brings together researchers working on different
aspects of bilingualism/multilingualism in the Hispanic and Lusophone
world to share new insights regarding methodology and extend and
strengthen the dialogue on furthering our understanding of
bilingualism/multilingualism.
BHL is dedicated to research in any area related to
bilingualism/multilingualism, including: bilingual/multilingual
acquisition, heritage languages, education, sociolinguistics, and
psycholinguistics.

acquisition in multilingual children, bilingual education models,
teaching strategies in multilingual classrooms, mother tongue in
education, etc) and in Technology (language learning apps, inclusion
