The Center for Data Science in Humanities (Director: Eon-Suk Ko) at
Chosun University invites applications for one or more full-time
Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join the national research project
“Language, Cognition, and Society: A Lifespan Data-Driven Approach.”
This six-year HK 3.0 initiative, funded by the Ministry of Education
and the National Research Foundation of Korea, investigates how
language and cognition develop and interact across the lifespan—from
infancy to older adulthood—using behavioral, corpus-based, and
computational approaches.
Our center conducts internationally competitive research supported by
advanced experimental tools, including eye-tracking systems and the
LENA audio environment analysis system. We maintain over 4,000 hours
of child language recordings and eye-tracking data from more than 900
infants. Recently, our data collection has expanded to include
BabyView-Korea (a corpus of infants’ first-person daily-life
recordings), as well as biomedical and speech datasets from older
adults and bilingual children.
The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative
research aligned with the project’s goals, contribute to the center’s
operations, mentor junior researchers, and help develop innovative
methodologies for studying language and cognition.
