Description:

The Formal Linguistics Research Group (GLiF) in the Department of
Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra,
Barcelona (Spain) is accepting expressions of interest from
researchers interested in applying to the upcoming Juan de la Cierva
and Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral calls:
Juan de la Cierva: This is now a 3-year postdoctoral contract awarded
by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities. The
PhD will have to have been successfully defended and approved between
Jan. 1, 2024, with limited extensions allowed for specific
circumstances, and Dec. 31, 2025. The start date is expected to be
between the last quarter of 2026 and Sept. 1, 2027. Information about
the call (in Spanish), which is scheduled to open on November 25,
2025, can be found here:
https://www.aei.gob.es/convocatorias/buscador-convocatorias/ayudas-contratos-juan-cierva-2025
Beatriu de Pinós: This is a 3-year postdoctoral contract awarded by
the Catalan AGAUR. Based on previous years’ calls, the PhD will have
to have been successfully defended and approved between Jan. 1, 2018,
with limited extensions allowed for specific circumstances, and Dec.
31, 2023. The start date is expected to be between the last quarter of
2026 and April 1, 2027. Information from last year’s call can be found
here:

In both cases, individual candidates are sponsored by
permanent/tenure-track faculty/staff, and each staff member may
sponsor only one candidate. Final decisions about which candidates
will be sponsored will be based on a combination of best match between
sponsor/candidate research profiles and the strength of the
candidates’ CVs. The list of GLiF permanent faculty/staff, their
contact information and their individual web pages can be found here:
https://www.upf.edu/web/glif/people. The staff who are interested in
supporting candidates this year are: Gemma Barberà, Sílvia
Gabarró-López, Mora Maldonado, Laia Mayol, Louise McNally, Josep Quer,
and Martina Wiltschko.
If you are interested in applying, please send a CV along with a brief
message describing your research interests to the faculty/staff member
that you would like to work with. Expressions of interest received by
November 20, 2025 will receive priority for consideration for
sponsorship.
