Submission Deadline: 15-Jan-2026

We are glad to announce the IV Catalan Linguistics at Oxford Day -
CLOx26, which will bring together researchers in the linguistics of
Catalan to discuss their research and encourage collaboration amongst
all those working on this language, in a friendly and productive
atmosphere. The meeting will be held in the historic Taylor
Institution Library. Our invited speaker this year is Dr. Jaume Mateu
(Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), a key figure in the
syntax-semantics of Catalan.
The topic of CLOx26 is syntax and its interfaces. As such, we invite
proposals on any aspect of Catalan syntax or its interfaces with other
grammatical components: semantics (lexical or sentential), morphology,
or phonology (segmental or prosodic), pragmatics. We welcome
contributions with well-defined perspectives: theoretical,
descriptive, dialectological, synchronic/diachronic, sociolinguistic,
experimental, or language-acquisition/learning. Comparative work
involving other languages is also possible as long as Catalan
constitutes the main object of study.
The official language of CLOx26 is English. Abstracts for proposed
presentations should be written in English and must be two pages long,
including references. Please use Times New Roman, 12-point font,
single spacing. Abstracts should be submitted by email to
clox at ling-phil.ox.ac.uk
The subject line of the mail should be: CLOx26 abstract submission
In the e-mail, please provide: title of the paper, name and surname of
the author(s), affiliation, email address, and indicate whether the
submission is from a student.
Important Dates:
Deadline for submission of abstracts: 15 January 2026
Notification of acceptance: 16 February 2026
