Final Call for Papers:
LabPhon 20 will be held in Montréal, Québec, Canada, from June 26–28,
2026, with pre- and post-conference workshops on June 25 and June 29,
and a keynote lecture on June 25. This 20th anniversary meeting will
take place at Coeur des Sciences at UQAM, located in downtown
Montreal, and is being organized by a multi-university team from
McGill University, Carleton University, and the University of Ottawa.
As we mark the 20th LabPhon meeting, our theme, Looking Back and
Looking Forward, invites reflection on the field’s foundational work
while exploring the evolving questions and methods shaping its future.
Update: We’ve added an additional workshop day on Monday, June 29,
2026, so workshops will now take place both before and after the
conference.

Satellite Workshops: We’re excited to announce 7 satellite workshops,
scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2026 and Monday, June 29, 2026 (both

Final Call for Papers:
-Update: We plan to offer an online-only poster session for those who
cannot attend in person. You can select the online-only poster option
when you submit your abstract. All oral presentations will be held in
person but will also be live-streamed.
-Submission Deadline: December 1, 2025
-Abstract submissions will be accepted via EasyChair:

-Each author may submit at most one abstract in which they are the
first or sole author but may submit multiple abstracts as non-first

LabPhon 20 memories: As mentioned in previous communication, LabPhon
is approaching its 40th birthday and the organizers of LabPhon 20
invited members of the community to head up the collection of memories
in the form of photos, videos, etc.  We are happy to share that Drs.
Bob Ladd, Marco Aurelio Silva Fonseca, and Jeff Mielke have taken on
this role! Please see a short note from them below, inviting your
submission of memories to the collection:
“We are planning to put together an exhibit at LabPhon 20 of the
history of Laboratory Phonology, and possibly to collect the
beginnings of a long-term archive. We are soliciting contributions and
