Subject: Call for Participants: A Study on College Students’ Autonomous Use of Language Learning Apps

My name is Melike Akay, and I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University
of South Florida. I am conducting research for my dissertation study
(USF IRB STUDY#009454) on college students’ experiences with language
learning applications, such as Duolingo, Babbel, Busuu, and others.
- If you are an undergraduate student currently enrolled at a U.S.
college or university, 18 years of age or older, and have used one of
these apps before (independently — that is, not as part of a course
requirement or teacher-assigned activity), I would greatly appreciate
your participation.
- Please consider completing a short (approximately 8-minute) online
questionnaire here:
https://usf.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6G4hsFEXFwjhVlA
- You will also have the option to indicate your interest in
participating in a brief follow-up interview.
Your participation will contribute to a better understanding of how
students engage in independent language learning using language apps
and how such experiences may support the development of intercultural
competence.
Dear Colleagues, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share this
post with your undergraduate students.
Dear Students, please feel free to pass it along to any friends or
classmates who may be eligible and interested in participating.
