On 7-9 May 2026, the Romanian Lectureship and the Department of
Romance Philology at the University of Salamanca, together with the
Romanian Language Institute in Bucharest are organising the RoSal
conference, 80 years of Romanian Studies at the University of
Salamanca, which celebrates the introduction of Romanian language
courses at this institution in 1946.
The conference is aimed at the scientific community in Romania, Spain
and other countries and is open to any topic related to Romanian
language, literature or civilisation.
The conference will be held in a hybrid format (in Salamanca on 7-8
May and online on 9 May), in conjunction with the celebration of the
5th Centenary of the School of Salamanca (1526-2026).

Duration of presentations: 20 minutes (plus 10 minutes for
discussion).
The conference proceedings, including a selection of the papers
received, will be published by Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca.
Registration fee: 50 euros (online) / 75 euros (on-site). Students: 40
euros.
The fee covers the publication of selected papers in the conference
volume, as well as coffee breaks. Accommodation, meals and transport
costs are to be covered by the participants.
Schedule:
− Submission of abstracts (maximum 500 words, including bibliography):
by 12 January 2026, to rosal at usal.es. Please include the following
information: name; institutional affiliation; email address; type of
participation (online / on-site); title of the paper; conference
section; language of communication.
− Notification of acceptance of proposals: 25 January 2026;
− Payment of registration fee: by 10 February 2026; payment method
will be communicated directly to registrants;
− Conference dates: 7–9 May 2026;
− Submission of articles for the proceedings: by 31 July 2026.
