Description:
We offer a three-year PhD position at the University of Göttingen
(Department of German Philology) within the DFG-funded project “Lying
and Commitment in the Visual Modality.” The position provides the
opportunity to contribute to empirical research in an
interdisciplinary team and includes responsibilities in empirical data
collection, dissemination of research results, and participation in
the organization of workshops and conferences. More information can be

Your Duties:
- Conduct research related to the project; contribute to planning,
conducting, and analysing empirical studies
- Contribute to the publication and presentation of research results
- Supervise student assistants affiliated with the project
- Assist in the organisation of workshops and conferences
- Participate in events of the interdisciplinary DFG Priority
Programme ViCom
Your Profile:
- You hold an excellent Master’s degree (or equivalent) in
linguistics, philology, philosophy, or a related field, with a focus
on semantics/pragmatics (if you are close to completing your Master’s
degree, you may submit the certificate at a later stage).
- You have initial experience in planning, conducting, and analysing
empirical (linguistic) investigations.
- You have a strong interest in the project’s research focus, are
highly motivated, and have strong teamwork, writing, and communication
skills.
- You possess very good English language skills
