The Journal for German and Scandinavian Studies (ISSN 2815-2867)
invites submissions for its 2026 thematic volume, dedicated to the
topic “Translation as Transfer, Memory and Art.”
This volume celebrates the 65th anniversary of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Reneta
Kileva-Stamenova, a distinguished scholar in translation studies and a
renowned translator from German into Bulgarian.
We welcome original research that explores translation as a
linguistic, cultural, and artistic practice, with particular emphasis
on translation from and to German and the Nordic languages, as well as
comparative and theoretical perspectives within translation studies.
The Journal also accepts fundamental and applied research across the
broader field of modern German and Scandinavian Studies, including
literary studies, linguistics, social sciences, history and culture of
the German-speaking countries and the Nordics, intercultural
communication, multilingualism, philosophy, theatre studies, art
history, and musicology.

Languages: English, German, Bulgarian or a Scandinavian language

The Journal for German and Scandinavian Studies (ISSN 2815-2867) is a
national, open-access academic e-journal published by St. Kliment
Ohridski University Press in Bulgaria. It follows a rigorous
double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent referees.
As the only journal of its kind in Southeastern Europe, it provides a
platform for scholarly exchange and the dissemination of research in
the fields of German and Scandinavian Studies. Its contributors
include both established experts and early-career researchers from
Southeastern and Central Europe, the German-speaking countries, and
the Nordics.
