We are delighted to announce that the 12th edition of Formal and
Experimental Advances in Sign language Theory (FEAST) will take place
at the University of Amsterdam from 6 to 8 July 2026. It is organized
by SignLab Amsterdam, a cross-faculty research lab of the Amsterdam
Center for Language and Communication and the Institute for Logic,
Language and Computation at the University of Amsterdam.
FEAST is the regular forum to discuss formal approaches to sign
language grammar (in particular in the generative tradition),
experimental approaches to sign languages, and their interaction.
FEAST is held as a conference series every one or two years. The
official conference languages will be International Sign (IS), Dutch
Sign Language (NGT) and English.
Keynote Presenters:
Tory Sampson (Boston University)
Anne Wienholz (Universität Hamburg)
We welcome contributions for both long and short presentations on any
formal and experimental approaches to sign language research. This
year, FEAST will also include a special session on reference tracking
and referential use of space.
Please visit the Call for Papers page on the conference website for
information on abstract submission, which is available in English,
International Sign, and Dutch Sign Language.
Abstract should be submitted on Easychair via the following link:
https://easychair.org/conferences?conf=feast2026. The deadline for
abstract submission is January 16th.
