Conference will be organized by St. Petersburg State University, St.
Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory and Vaganova Ballet
Academy.
The goal of the International Scientific Conference is to create a
comfortable interdisciplinary platform for a fruitful broad discussion
of the problems of interaction in the conditions of the modern
information world of the main semiotic systems that ensure human
communication — language, music and gesture.
Among the topics proposed for discussion during the conference are the
following:
1. The structure of linguistic and musical knowledge, features of
their functioning and formation; implicit and explicit components;
general and different in the perception and understanding of music and
language.
2. Non-verbal means of communication; prosodic characteristics of
speech, their perception; gestures, body language and its interaction
with verbal communication.
3. Issues of language acquisition and musical skills; interaction
between language and music in the process of their acquisition;
interaction between cognitive systems responsible for the perception
of musical and linguistic text.
4. Music informatics, computer and electroacoustic music; development
of electronic musical instruments and performance principles; neural
networks in music and language.
5. Automatic processing of language and music data; quantitative
studies of musical and linguistic text.
6. Multimedia music and art, perception of body movements and
choreographic gestures, simultaneous processing of the signs of
different nature.
Three special sections are planned within the framework of the
conference:
1. Semiotics of gesture (in memory of G.E. Kreidlin)
2. Music across the sciences (in memory of N.I. Degtyareva)
3. Student poster section

Mihailo Antović (University of Niš, Serbia)
Svetlana Pereverzeva (Russian State University of the Humanities,
Moscow, Russia)

Conference languages are Russian and English. Conference will be held
in a hybrid format.
Submissions:
Applications from various fields of knowledge are accepted to
participate in the conference. Speech time limit: 20 minutes for
presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.

https://reg.spbu.ru/lmgic-eng before November 20th, 2025. You may send
your questions to the email address lmgic at spbu.ru. Notifications will
be sent in February 2026.
A completely anonymized application must contain brief information
about the report in no more than 2 pages (without subheadings) and
clearly reflect the statement of the problem, a critical review of the
literature, the methodology and results of the study, and the
conclusions obtained. Applications must be submitted in pdf format.
If it is necessary to include special characters in the text of the
application (for example, phonetic transcription), then please send
the application in two formats — pdf and doc.
Publication:
It is planned to publish selected articles in a special volume,
indexed in one of the international scientific databases. Articles for
publication will be selected based on the results of double-blind peer
review.
