Subject: Call for Chapter Proposals: Linguistics as Interfaces to Human Connection

The Independent Linguists Meet (ILM) Group invites interested authors
to submit proposals for chapters in an upcoming book exploring the
intersections of language, identity, and the digital world.
Thematic Focus: Linguistic Interfaces
All chapters must engage with the broad concept of Linguistic
Interfaces. This focus allows for diverse interpretations. The
following examples represent strong areas of interest, but
contributions on these specific topics are not mandatory:
- The interface between human language and Artificial Intelligence
(AI).
- The interface between language and social media/digital
communication.
- The impact of these interfaces on individuals and future generations
in the construction of a collective society.
Chapter Content: Personal Accounts and Impressions
We are looking for contributions that are highly personal, reflective,
and perspective-driven. Authors should share their personal journey
and general impressions of the field, specifically focusing on:
- How they got into linguistics or language study.
- Their personal thoughts on the current state of the field.
- The developments they hope to see in the future.
- The role of language and linguistics in framing narratives and
identity.
Submission Details
Prospective authors are welcome to discuss their ideas with the book
editors: Keith Tse (keithtselinguist at gmail.com) and Andrea Chan
(andreawschan at gmail.com).
