Description:
The Department of Linguistics at Rutgers, the State University of New
Jersey – New Brunswick invites applications for a full-time,
non-tenure track (renewable) position as Teaching Instructor in the
Speech and Hearing Sciences. Duties consist primarily of teaching at
the undergraduate level. This is a 3-3 teaching load position; the
successful candidate will teach three undergraduate courses each
semester in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Linguistics.
Rutgers University-New Brunswick is both a leading research university
and a large public institution, the State University of New Jersey. It
is the most diverse school in the Big Ten, located in one of the most
diverse counties in New Jersey. In this context, our Department of

We encourage applications from candidates who demonstrate an awareness
of the role of language and linguistics in supporting inclusion and

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience teaching
undergraduate students at the university level, with preference for
experience with online or hybrid classes. Expertise in one or more of
the following areas: phonetics; voice; speech; child language
development; or hearing disorders. Expertise in other related areas
may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience advising undergraduate students
and clinical experience in speech-language pathology and/or audiology.
