We're organizing a free to attend symposium in Tokyo on September 20
on the theme of Transformational participatory research: A practical
methods workshop. All are welcome to attend!

The Vision and Theme:
This symposium will feature lectures and workshops on a variety of
participatory research methodologies, including community campaigns
centered on transformation, photo and video production, and visual
methods. In the workshops, participants will engage in hands-on
practice of these approaches, reflecting on their experiences and
exploring how such methods can be applied in their own research and
educational settings.
This symposium also aims to foster greater empathy and mutual
understanding by helping participants deepen and transform their
engagement with the world around them and the people within it. The
international research team behind this project brings extensive
experience from diverse educational settings, and the insights gained
are expected to provide valuable learning opportunities for educators
and researchers working in primary, secondary, tertiary, and
non-formal education.
理念とテーマ
このシンポジウムでは、変革を主題とした研究のあり方について様々な議論を行います。シンポジウムでは変革を実現するためのコミュニティの創生、そのための写真・動画の制作、変革を触発するビジュアルなアプローチを含む、多様な参加型研究方法論についてのレクチャーとワークショップが行われます。ワークショップでは、シンポジウムの参加者がそれらの手法を実際に実践する方法を模索しながら、自身の研究や教育現場での応用可能性について共に考えます。
またこのシンポジウムでは、参加者が周囲や世界の多様な人々とどのように関わるべきかの理解を深め、そこでの変革を実現するための手助けをすることで、より大きな共感と相互理解を育むことを目指します。このプロジェクトをリードする国際的な研究者チームは幅広い教育現場での豊富な経験を有しており、このシンポジウムで得られた知見は小学校から高校・大学教育、そして民間教育の場で働く教育者や研究者にとって有意義なものとなると考えられます。
