4th International Linguistics Colloquium

Meeting Description:
Each talk will be 20 minutes long with 10 minutes for questions and
discussion. It is preferred that talks be given in Spanish. Native
speakers of minority languages are welcome to present in their native
languages but slides and/or handouts must have Spanish translations as
the common language of the audience is Spanish.
Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words in length (excluding
examples and references), and be submitted as a .pdf. The abstract
content must be anonymous, and not include the name, email or
affiliation of the submitter. Abstracts need to be sent to
coloquiolinguistica.bolivia at gmail.com and must be received no later
than 23:59 p.m. on December 10, 2025 in Bolivian time (GMT-4). The
text of the email should include the author(s) name(s),
affiliation(s), the title of the proposed abstract, and the
anticipated language of the talk in the case the talk is aimed to be
delivered in an indigenous language. Abstracts need to be submitted in
Spanish.
The 4th International Linguistics Colloquium in Bolivia aims to bring
linguists and community members working on minoritized languages,
Language Documentation and Language Revitalization. Bolivia is a
linguistically and culturally rich country. It is the host of 36
minority languages. The 2026 colloquium will take place at the Public
University of Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA)  in the city of La Paz.  The
colloquium is an opportunity to engage and share experiences with
Bolivian students and linguists with a unique cultural and linguistic
background. The event will highlight Aymara cultural traditions and
customs. The closing ceremony will be celebrated with the Apthapi, an
event that consists of sharing delicious food based on products
produced and cultivated in the territory of the Andes.
The 4th international linguistic colloquium in Bolivia will conclude
with an excursion to the Majestic Salar de Uyuni on March 22nd.
