Die 23. Sprachwissenschaftliche Tagung für Promotionsstudierende
findet am 13.-14. März 2026 an der Universität Osnabrück statt.
Die STaPs ist eine Tagung von Promotionsstudierenden für
Promotionsstudierende. Im Gegensatz zu fachwissenschaftlichen
Konferenzen liegt der Fokus der STaPs nicht primär auf inhaltlichen
Themen und (Teil-)Ergebnissen der Dissertation, sondern auf dem Davor
und Dazwischen der methodischen Problemfelder.
Call for Papers:
Wir laden zur Einreichung von Abstracts für Vorträge (20 Minuten + 10
Minuten Diskussion) oder Posterpräsentationen in deutscher oder
englischer Sprache ein. Da die Abstracts im Blind-Review-Verfahren
begutachtet werden, dürfen keine autorenspezifischen Informationen
enthalten sein. Namen der Autor:innen, Institutionszugehörigkeit und
Kontaktdaten können in der finalen Version ergänzt werden.
Vorgestellt werden empirisch orientierte Projekte aus allen Bereichen
der Linguistik (theoretische und deskriptive Linguistik sowie Psycho-,
Neuro-, Sozio- oder Computerlinguistik, synchron wie diachron). Es
sollen in einem informellen Rahmen methodische Herausforderungen
diskutiert werden. An Stelle inhaltlicher Diskussionen liegt der Fokus
der STaPs auf einem starken Problem- und Methodenbezug: Weder fertige
Forschung noch vorläufige (Teil-)Ergebnisse sollen präsentiert werden.
Die Abstracts sollten die Forschungsfragen klar darstellen, mit
besonderem Fokus auf eine problem- und methodenorientierte
Herangehensweise, und einen Umfang von maximal 500 Wörtern (ohne
Literaturangaben) nicht überschreiten. Abstracts sollten nach dem
Unified Style Sheet for Linguistics formatiert sein.

The 23rd STaPs (linguistics conference for PhD students) takes place
on March 13-14, 2026 at Osnabrück University.
The STaPs conference is a conference by PhD students for PhD students.
In contrast to other conferences, the STaPs conference does not
primarily focus on the content and (preliminary) results of PhD
projects, but on the Before and the In Between of methodological
challenges.
Call for Papers:
We invite papers for oral presentation (20 minutes + 10 minutes
discussion) or poster presentation in German or English. Since
abstracts are submitted to blind review, please omit any
author-specific information. Author names, affiliation, and contact
information can be added in the finalized version.
Empirical projects of any area of linguistics can be presented
(theoretical and descriptive linguistics as well as psycho-, neuro-,
sociolinguistics and computer linguistics; synchronic or diachronic).
Instead of content-related discussions, the STaPs conference is
strongly problem- and methodology-oriented: Neither finished research
projects nor preliminary research results should be presented.
Abstracts should clearly state the research questions, with a special
focus on a problem- and methodology-oriented approach, and should not
exceed 500 words (excluding references). Abstracts should be formatted
according to the Unified Style Sheet of Linguistics.
