The Association of Emerging Linguists invites young and/or student
linguists to participate in the Emerging Linguists Workshop at the
49th Austrian Linguistics Conference. This year, the Emerging
Linguists Workshop is being organised as part of a course at the
Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (but attendance at the course is
not a prerequisite for participation in the workshop!).
The Association of Emerging Linguists (EL) consists of students,
graduates and those interested in linguistics and related disciplines.
We are a network that focuses on mutual, collegial support and shared
growth.
Our workshop has no specific thematic focus. Therefore, contributions
from all areas of linguistics are welcome. For example, results from
bachelor's theses, methodologies from master's theses, theoretical
frameworks from dissertations or other linguistic projects can be
presented. The focus is on giving emerging linguists the opportunity
to present, discuss and exchange their scientific work at an
established Austrian conference.
We look forward to your presentations and the joint discussion!
Important Information:
 - Please send your abstracts to konferieren at emerginglinguists.org by
20 October 2025.
 - You will be notified of acceptance by 31 October 2025 at the
latest.
 - Abstracts should be no longer than 400 words (excluding
references).
 - Your presentation should last 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute
discussion.
 - The workshop languages are German and English.

Die Association of Emerging Linguists lädt junge und/oder studierende
Linguist:innen ein, am „Emerging Linguists“-Workshop bei der 49.
Österreichischen Linguistiktagung teilzunehmen. Dieses Jahr wird der
„Emerging Linguists“-Workshop im Rahmen einer Lehrveranstaltung an der
Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt organisiert (der Besuch der
Lehrveranstaltung ist aber keine Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme am
Workshop!).
Die Association of Emerging Linguists (EL) besteht aus Studierenden,
Absolvent:innen und Interessierten an der Sprachwissenschaft und der
mit ihr verwandten Disziplinen. Wir sind ein Netzwerk, bei dem
gegenseitige, kollegiale Unterstützung und gemeinsames Wachsen im
Vordergrund steht.
Unser Workshop steht unter keinem thematischen Schwerpunkt. Daher sind
Beiträge aus allen Bereichen der Sprachwissenschaft willkommen. Es
können beispielsweise Ergebnisse aus Bachelorarbeiten, Methodologien
aus Masterarbeiten, theoretische Frameworks aus Dissertationen oder
sonstige sprachwissenschaftliche Projekte präsentiert werden. Im
Mittelpunkt steht es, emerging linguists Raum zu geben, ihre
wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten an einer etablierten österreichischen
Tagung zu präsentieren, zu diskutieren und auszutauschen.
Wir freuen uns auf eure Vorträge und die gemeinsame Diskussion!
Wichtige Informationen:
 - Bitte sendet eure Abstracts bis zum 20.10.2025 an

 - Eine Rückmeldung über die Annahme erfolgt bis spätestens
31.10.2025.
 - Abstracts sollten (ohne Literatur) max. 400 Wörter umfassen
 - Euer Vortrag sollte 20 Minuten dauern, im Anschluss werden wir 10
Minuten diskutieren
 - Die Workshopsprachen sind Deutsch und Englisch
