About the conference:
The StuTS (Studentische Tagung Sprachwissenschaft) is a three-day
student conference on linguistics held biannually. Organized by
volunteer linguistics students, it is hosted usually but not
exclusively, by German-speaking universities.
Since its inauguration in Hamburg in 1987, StuTS has brought together
thousands of enthusiastic linguistics students to present their work,
learn about exciting new topics in inspiring keynote addresses, talks,
and workshops, and meet interesting like-minded people from other
universities across Europe and around the world.
Now, for the 78th time, StuTS invites interested students of
linguistics and related disciplines to spend a long weekend in
Stuttgart, Germany, from November 12 to 16, 2025!
More information about registration, accommodations, the preliminary
program including details about our esteemed keynote speakers, and
registration fees can be found on our website:
https://linguistik.stuvus.uni-stuttgart.de/en/stuts78/.
Call for Participation:
The 78th StuTS is now open for your submissions!
If you can imagine presenting a linguistic topic of your choice, for
example a bachelor or master thesis, a seminar paper or a topic you
have dealt with elsewhere, you are welcome to do so at the 78th StuTS
in Stuttgart! It doesn’t matter how far along you are in your academic
career or if you’ve been to a StuTS before—it is only important for
your presentation to be related to linguistics. We're looking forward
to your submissions!
You have the option of presenting your topic in the form of a lecture,
a workshop, or a poster. Lectures are scheduled to last 30 minutes,
with 5–10 minutes set aside for discussion. Workshops should be
interactive and are scheduled to last 60 minutes.
Lectures, workshops, and posters can be presented in German or
English.
The Call for Participation takes place via the conference system frab.
Please read the instructions on how to submit contributions through
the conference management system before you submit your contributions.
You have to submit your contributions until October 1, 2025.
Submitting your presentation to the Call for Participation does not
automatically register you for the StuTS.
You must also register separately for the StuTS. Please also fill out
the registration form available on our website after submitting
through frab.
