Description:
The School of Modern Languages (www.modlangs.gatech.edu) at the
Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of
Assistant Professor in Language Science/Linguistics. Candidates are
expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to teaching and
mentoring students.

Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
 - Pursue and publish an original research agenda using
quantitative/computational/experimental methods.
 - Teach undergraduate and master’s level courses in Language
Science/Linguistics, including at least one of the following areas:
psycholinguistics, phonetics/phonology, sociolinguistics, language
acquisition, and/or language typology.
 - Mentor students and cultivate their success.
 - Fulfill service responsibilities to the School, the Institute, and
the field.
Minimum Qualifications:
 - Ph.D. in Linguistics/Language Science or a related field, completed
by the time of appointment.
 - Demonstrated original research agenda.
 - Demonstrated ability to effectively teach self-designed courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
 - Experience with innovative instruction and curriculum development.
 - Evidence of engagement in service, leadership, and/or faculty
governance.
 - Demonstrated ability to communicate with non-linguist audiences,
including students, colleagues, and laypersons from diverse
backgrounds.
